The entire transformation was captured from start to finish in a video feature for the magazine. Read on to discover more about this exciting project and A.W. Puma Remodeling & Restoration’s pivotal role in it.

The project centered around refreshing a family room for a client named Kelley. She and her husband had been living in their home for almost six years, creating cherished memories with their two sons and dog. The family room, the heart of their home, was where Bathroom Remodelers Near Me they spent most of their time—whether relaxing after dinner, playing games, or enjoying each other’s company. Kelley’s goal for the remodel was to make the space more functional for guests, increase storage, improve the layout, and create a room she could take pride in.

Although Kelley had long envisioned these changes, the plan was postponed when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2021. After completing her treatment, Kelley and her family were ready to move forward with the remodel.

In the *Architectural Digest* video, Kelley meets Julie Sousa, the founder of Avant Garde, a home decor and design brand. Julie, an experienced interior stylist, DIYer, and content creator, worked closely with Kelley to bring her vision to life. One of Julie’s key suggestions was to reorient the room’s layout around the often-overlooked fireplace. She also proposed adding storage behind the sofa and incorporating wooden beams to add warmth and character.

Budget was another crucial aspect of the project. Kelley and her husband had set a budget of $30,000, which allowed them to balance DIY efforts with hiring professionals for more complex tasks. That’s where A.W. Puma Remodeling & Restoration came in.

Albert, from A.W. Puma, was contacted by Julie and *Architectural Digest* to handle specific aspects of the remodel that required expert craftsmanship. One of the standout tasks was the installation of wood beams in the living room. While Kelley loved the idea, she was concerned about the room’s low ceilings. A.W. Puma’s team came up with a clever solution: instead of using traditional wood beams, they constructed custom beams by joining multiple pieces of wood to create a seamless, uniform look. Using a 45-degree beveled saw, they kept the depth of the beams to just three inches, preserving ceiling height while achieving the desired aesthetic.

In addition to the beams, A.W. Puma also completed several other tasks to bring the room together. By the time the project was finished, both the DIY elements and the professional craftsmanship had combined to create a space that exceeded Kelley’s expectations.

For homeowners looking to elevate their family room, bathroom, or kitchen, A.W. Puma Remodeling & Restoration offers the expertise and creativity to make any space shine—perhaps even worthy of a feature in *Architectural Digest*.
